Everyone has favorite books, music, and other things, and I'm certainly no exception. My publisher suggested that my readers might be interested in some of them. I presume he'll also add links to anything I mention once he gets the list, as I don't think he's creating the website for me entirely out of artistic motivations.

In any case, I've broken this down into several categories, so here they are. I hope you enjoy some, or all, of these as much as I do.

Books  This list contains both favorite authors and specific books I've enjoyed. Some of them are available, and a few may be out of print. Even those are worth looking for.

Music  I have pretty eclectic tastes when it comes to music, enjoying things I heard when I was a youngster, as well as good rock and some of the groups my children liked. No rap, though.

Television  When I was a kid, television was something you'd find in pulp magazines, or at the 1939 World's Fair. My parents never bought a television when we were young because it didn't exist yet. I bought my first set in 1954, and I've been watching it ever since. (Not always, or even usually, the more intellectual or "educational" shows, either.

Movies  Movies we had when I was a kid, but I wasn't allowed to see them. Like any obedient kid, I went anyway. Today I'm more likely to get the films on DVD and watch them at home, but I still enjoy them.

Other Stuff  This category is sort of a catch-all. Some of the "other stuff" are things I use, places I've visited, or people I just happen to find interesting.
